Admission Day Support

Children fighting cancer are admitted to the hospital for many reasons: their scheduled chemotherapy treatments, for surgical procedures, to get help fighting an infection due to low blood counts, for high fevers, and even for hitting their head hard enough. These hospital stays can be tough on children and on their families who often have to divide their time between the hospital, home, and work.

We would like to try to make that first day a little bit easier. Our "Admission Day Support" program provides a restaurant gift card to families who are checking into 4 North at Dell Children's Hospital. This little gift takes away some small bit of the stress of going into the hospital for an extended period of time.

How the program works:
The social workers from the children's outpatient clinic will provide patients who are scheduled to check into the hospital with a gift card to a nearby restaurant such as: Subway, Torchy's Tacos, Domino's Pizza, and others.
